History

The Falls City Cemetery serves the railroad town of Falls City, which began in 1886 when the San Antonio and Aransas Pass Railway built a switch and depot called Brackenridge, named for railroad shareholder George W. Brackenridge. The settlement was renamed Falls City in 1893 after nearby natural waterfalls, and its predominantly Polish Catholic settlers founded Holy Trinity Catholic Church in 1902.
