History
This gazebo near Comfort was created by Mexican-born artist Dionicio Rodriguez for San Antonio businessman Albert Steves, using his signature faux bois technique of sculpting reinforced concrete to imitate rustic wood and branches. Rodriguez worked in Texas from the 1920s and his faux bois pieces are prized examples of folk-art landscape design. The gazebo is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
