History
The limestone Kendall County Courthouse in Boerne began as a single-story building in 1870, designed by Philip Zoeller and J. F. Stendebach on land donated by surveyor John James. A second story was added in 1886 by Charles Buckel, and architect Alfred Giles designed the 1909 front facade. The adjacent limestone jail was built in 1887 by the Pauly Jail Building and Manufacturing Company. The courthouse served the county until 1998 and was listed on the National Register in 1980.
