History

London Cemetery lies south of the farming community of London in northeastern Kimble County. The town was founded in the late 1870s or early 1880s by Len L. Lewis, a horse trader and former Union officer who bought land there and laid out a townsite he hoped would become a county seat. London grew to several hundred residents in the early 20th century before consolidating farms thinned it out, and the cemetery holds roughly 500 recorded graves of its people.
