History
The 1904 Train Depot Museum in Kingsville occupies a restored depot of the St. Louis, Brownsville and Mexico Railroad, which was incorporated in 1903 by Uriah Lott and B. F. Yoakum with backing from Richard King. The railroad's arrival in 1904 connected the town to Corpus Christi and Brownsville and drove Kingsville's early growth. The depot was restored for the city's centennial and reopened as a museum on July 4, 2004, exactly 100 years after Kingsville was chartered, and features artifacts including an operational telegraph.
