History
Biardstown Cemetery, also recorded as Antioch (Biardstown) Cemetery, lies in south-central Lamar County near the community of Biardstown, six miles south of Paris. The associated Antioch church and cemetery date to roughly 1846 to 1848, among the older burial grounds in the area, dating to the first years of Texas statehood. The community took its name from early settler John W. Biard and became a locally important cotton-shipping town by the 1880s. Burial records here were compiled in the 1990s in memory of family historian Maude Biard Smith.
