History

Vsetin Cemetery lies in the Czech-Moravian community of Vsetin near Sublime, settled about 1865 by immigrants who named it for the town of Vsetin in their Old World homeland. After years of sharecropping, the settlers bought their own farms and organized an Evangelical Unity of the Czech-Moravian Brethren congregation, whose church stands beside the cemetery. The well-kept grounds hold roughly 250 markers, the oldest for Jan Chudej, who died September 24, 1888.
