History

Obelgoner Cemetery is a small family burial ground of about thirteen known graves near Sublime in eastern Lavaca County. Its oldest grave is that of Wilhelmine Obelgoner, who died January 24, 1862, making it one of the earlier burial sites in the area. It was inventoried by Sam Tise in 1979 and reinventoried in 2011, by which time the overgrown grounds had lost track of two stones from the earlier survey.
