Constructed of multicolored red and brown brick and cast stone in the Classical Revival style. The building features a dentiled cornice and a double-height entry portico supported by Corinthian columns.

History

The Live Oak County Courthouse in George West was designed by architect Alfred Giles in 1919 in the Classical Revival style and was the last courthouse Giles designed. It is the county's third courthouse, following an 1857 building at the former county seat of Oakville and an 1888 building in George West. A town square three blocks from the railroad depot had been planned in 1914 for its construction, and an annex in the modern vernacular was added by Wyatt C. Hedrick in 1956.
