History

The Wright Cemetery is a family burial ground on the old Twin Oaks ranch in Live Oak County, the resting place of pioneer George Washington Wright and his wife Amanda Riley. Wright served in the Texas army in 1836 and received a bounty-land grant for his service, and he helped build the first schoolhouse at nearby Lagarto. He died in 1877 and Amanda in 1895.
