History
The Bayer Museum of Agriculture in Lubbock grew out of a collection begun more than 40 years ago by Alton Brazell and other civic leaders to preserve the region's farming heritage. Incorporated as the American Museum of Agriculture in 2001 and opened in its current form in 2014, it sits on a nearly 25-acre tract beside Mackenzie Park. Its Alton Brazell Exhibit Hall holds restored antique tractors and harvesting equipment, a cotton-ginning exhibit, an interactive blacksmith shop, and the largest U.S. display of pedal tractors.
