History

New Gooch Cemetery is the newer companion to the historic Gooch burial ground in southwestern Mason County, whose origins date to roughly 1872. Laid out on the east side of the road from the older Old Gooch section, it continued to serve the surrounding rural community and is maintained by the Gooch Cemetery Board.
