The R. J. Hill Building at Fourth and Commerce Streets in Palacios was built in 1910 out of cast concrete blocks manufactured on the site, during the period when the coastal town was being promoted as a seaside resort. The two-story commercial structure carries Richardsonian Romanesque details, including columns with entasis, bulbous bases, and blocky capitals. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.
