History

Restland Cemetery, on South 9th Street in Waco just southeast of Oakwood Cemetery, is a large public burial ground long known locally as the county 'pauper's cemetery.' Operated in connection with McLennan County, it received many indigent burials over the decades. It is perhaps best known as the resting place of a number of Branch Davidians who died in the 1993 siege near Waco.
