History

This burial ground is part of Rosemound Cemetery in Waco, a perpetual-care cemetery platted in 1923 to provide comparatively low-priced graves. The first burial of record, J. H. B. Lacy, took place on February 2, 1924, and the cemetery was organized into curvilinear blocks with separate sections that eventually included a Hebrew section (from about 1930) and a Veterans of Foreign Wars section (mid-1930s). It has been overseen by the Rosemound Cemetery Association since about 1960.
