History

Liberty Hill Cemetery served the small farming community of Liberty Hill in eastern Milam County, about eight miles west of Rockdale. A school, a church, and scattered houses were shown at the community on the 1941 county highway map, and the cemetery preserves the memory of the once-thriving farm settlement, which had dwindled to roughly 25 residents by the late twentieth century.
