History

The Barber Cemetery is a small family burial ground in the Sandow community about seven miles southwest of Rockdale in Milam County. Once a wagon-driver stop called Freezeout with a racetrack and saloons, the settlement became Millerton and later Sandow, and a lignite mine operated there until it closed in 1950.
