History

The Lockart grave is an isolated burial in the Sandow community southwest of Rockdale in Milam County, an area first called Freezeout and later Millerton before it was renamed for strongman Eugen Sandow. The community grew around farming and, from 1918, a lignite mine served by a short railroad connecting to the International and Great Northern line.
