History

This is the Catholic section of the Danville-Shepherd Hill Cemetery, the burial ground of the vanished town of Danville in northern Montgomery County, northwest of Willis. The graveyard is divided into Protestant, Catholic, and Black sections and holds graves dating from about 1850. The Shepherd Hill name comes from landowner William W. Shepperd, who bought the surrounding land in 1846.
