History

Spring Hill Cemetery was established in 1852 in the Rocky Branch community near Naples, about seven miles north of Daingerfield in Morris County. Several families donated the land, and the cemetery and its church took their name from a nearby spring and hill. According to local tradition, the first burial was a young girl, Nancy Rushton, who died on September 14, 1852.
