History

The Oldham County Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum in Vega is an outdoor collection of antique farm and ranch equipment displayed along old Route 66. Its holdings include early motorized and horse-drawn implements, threshing machines, and restored tractors used in and around Vega. The museum reflects the ranching heritage of Oldham County, organized in 1880 with a county seat that moved from Old Tascosa to Vega in 1915 and once part of the vast three-million-acre XIT Ranch.
