History

Stephenson Cemetery is a historic burial ground near Vidor in Orange County whose land was donated by Henry Obert Anderson. Interments date to the 1800s and include the Stephenson, Anderson, and Sorter families, and local tradition tells of two Stephenson brothers buried in unmarked graves in one corner after a deadly post-Civil War quarrel.
