History

Union Murvaul Cemetery stands beside Murvaul United Methodist Church about five miles south of Carthage, serving the Murvaul community of southern Panola County. The Panola County Historical & Genealogical Association surveyed the grounds in 1997. The cemetery has received the Texas Historical Commission's Historic Texas Cemetery designation, reserved for burial grounds at least fifty years old with recognized historical associations.
