History

Lindsey Cemetery, also known as Holton-Lindsey Cemetery, is a small family burial ground in southwestern Panola County. Its graves date back to at least the 1880s, including that of J. L. Lindsey (1847-1888), alongside members of the Holton family such as David L. Holton, a soldier who died during the World War I era. Many of its markers are homemade, formed by pouring concrete into wooden molds and etching in the names and dates.
