The building features a central ten story central building with five story symmetrical wings and an entry portal with limestone carved details and round arched openings leading to ornamental cast aluminum entry doors. Flat pilasters define vertical bays of windows.

The Potter County Courthouse in Amarillo is an Art Deco building constructed in 1932 to the design of William C. Townes, at a cost of about $315,000. The adjacent Potter County Library, on the same property, was also designed by Townes and built in 1922. The courthouse was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on August 22, 1996, and is a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark.
