History

Harris Chapel Cemetery lies about half a mile south of Clarksville off Highway 37 in southwestern Red River County, on the Gilbert Clark survey. R. H. Harris deeded an acre reserved for the cemetery in 1910 and added a second acre in 1912. The oldest marked grave is Frances Ann Harris, a child of J. C. and Martha Harris who died in October 1860.
