History
Fairview Cemetery, established in September 1870, lies at the west edge of Clarksville near the junction of Highways 82 and 37 on the John M. Ritchey headright survey. Its land came together through several associations, including the Clarksville Cemetery Association and Hebrew Cemetery Association purchases in 1895 and a 1941 Fairview Cemetery Association acquisition. The oldest marked burial is David C. Russell (1870); with Confederate veterans among its graves, it is the county's largest cemetery, with about 2,718 documented burials by 2004.
