History

Mount Evergreen Cemetery sits just south of Interstate 20 on Evergreen Street in Pecos, sharing its northern boundary with the adjoining Greenwood Cemetery. One of the town's major burial grounds, it holds roughly two thousand graves with markers dating to the nineteenth century, when Pecos grew as a cattle-shipping and railroad center in Reeves County.
