History

Also known as Beck Prairie Cemetery, this burial ground serves the community once called Beck Prairie, renamed Nesbitt around 1900, in Robertson County. A.J. Sharp, Sr., bought former Methodist church property here in 1875 and gave it to the community for a cemetery and school, and the first recorded burial, infant Florence McCrary, took place that same year. The neighboring Beck Prairie Missionary Baptist Church was organized in 1875 and built its first sanctuary in 1878 on land donated by Jacob and Elizabeth Anderson.
