History

The Kelsey Bass Museum and Event Center in Rio Grande City preserves and shares the history of Starr County and one of South Texas's oldest communities, whose roots trace to Spanish ranching settlements established along the Rio Grande in the mid-1700s. Located at 101 S. Washington Street in the historic downtown, it presents exhibits on local history and heritage alongside educational programs and community events.
