History
The W. T. Waggoner Building at 810 Houston Street in Fort Worth was built from 1919 to 1920 for cattle and oil magnate William Thomas Waggoner, owner of the Waggoner Ranch and Refinery. Designed by Sanguinet & Staats, the twenty-story, 230-foot skyscraper cost about $1.5 million and opened on March 8, 1920, briefly the tallest building in the city. It included some of the first Otis elevators installed outside New York or Chicago and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
