History

Saint James Second Street Baptist Church at 210 Harding Street in Fort Worth was founded in 1895 by the Reverend J. Francis Robinson. Construction of the Gothic Revival red-brick building began in 1913 to designs by architect Frank J. Singleton, with services held in the basement until completion in 1918. Framed by short square entry towers and lancet art-glass windows, it was designated a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1986 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.
