History
This two-story brick house was built in 1910 for W. G. and Shirley Swenson on land owned by the family, and it was substantially remodeled in 1928 with brick veneer and Spanish Colonial Revival features. W. G. Swenson, of Swedish descent, was a longtime leader of Citizens National Bank and headed the Abilene Light and Abilene Ice companies. The Swenson family donated the home to the Abilene Preservation League in 1986, and it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
