History
Abilene Fire Station No. 2, at 441 Butternut Street, was built in 1926 and is described as the city's best-preserved and least-altered example of an early municipal building. It is the only one of Abilene's historic fire stations to retain its architectural integrity. The station was listed on the National Register in 1992.
