History
This downtown Abilene warehouse was associated with the Ed S. Hughes Company, a major wholesale firm. Along with the Horace O. Wooten Grocery Company and the James M. Radford Grocery Company, the Hughes company helped make Abilene an important wholesale and distribution center for West Texas in the early twentieth century. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.
