History

Elmwood Memorial Park is a ninety-three-acre cemetery on U.S. Highway 277 south of Abilene, established in 1948, with its first burials recorded in 1946, to meet demand during the city's rapid postwar growth. It holds more than thirty thousand interments, among them actor James Drury and World War II survivor Frank 'Foo' Fujita. The park passed to Service Corporation International in 2007.
