History

Delta Memorial Park Cemetery in San Angelo was established in 1928 and served as a burial ground for the city's African American community. Located on Arden Road (FM 853) just east of the Houston Harte Expressway, it holds several hundred graves. The Texas Historical Commission designated it a Historic Texas Cemetery and erected its marker in 2007.
