History
The Royston Nave Memorial in Victoria opened in 1932 as a Greek Revival temple designed by San Antonio architect Atlee B. Ayres, with a hexastyle Ionic portico of polished Vermont marble. It was commissioned by Emma McFaddin McCan Nave as a memorial to her late husband, painter Royston Nave, and originally displayed his paintings and housed the Bronte Study Club library. Now operated as the Nave Museum, it is the oldest fine arts museum in the Crossroads region.
