History
The Old Brownson School in Victoria was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on December 9, 1986. It is connected to the Brownson family, whose patriarch John Milton Brownson founded Brownson's Bank (later First Victoria National Bank); on Catherine Brownson's death in 1932 the family estate helped establish The Brownson Home for children in need.
