History

Spivey Cemetery is a family and community burying ground in northeastern Walker County, with graves reaching back to the mid-19th century. It served several pioneer households of the area, including the Spivey, White, Hightower, and Huntsman families. Among its earliest interments is James L. Spivey (1820–1872), for whom the cemetery is named, along with early settler Isaac M. Huntsman, Sr. (1816–1903).
