About this tour

Few American cities pack four major-league teams into as tight a triangle as Houston does. In a single afternoon you can drive from the retractable roof where the Astros play baseball downtown, out to the cavernous stadium where the Texans take the field on the old Astrodome grounds, back to the arena where the Rockets run the hardwood, and over to the soccer-specific pitch the Dynamo call home on the eastern edge of downtown. This loop strings all four together with a stop at the Astrodome itself — the 'Eighth Wonder of the World' that started it all. Each venue tells a chapter of how Houston grew into a big-league sports town, from the domed-stadium gamble of the 1960s to the downtown-arena boom of the 2000s. Cheer loud, wear your colors, and mind game-day traffic — this is a drive best done on a quiet morning.
