Rice Village: Shop, Eat & Stroll

Tucked just west of Rice University, Rice Village is one of Houston's oldest and best-loved shopping districts — a walkable, tree-lined grid of more than three hundred shops, restaurants, and pubs that has drawn locals since the late 1930s. It has weathered booms and lulls over the decades, revitalized each time by the young families who filled the neighborhoods around it, and today it mixes homegrown boutiques with national names in an easy, small-town-feeling few blocks.
