About this tour

For three weeks every spring, the sprawling campus of NRG Park turns into the largest livestock show and rodeo on earth. The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo draws well over two million visitors a year to buck-outs, chuckwagon meals, blue-ribbon steers, a mile of carnival midway, and headline concerts inside the stadium. This driving loop circles the whole complex — the stadium where cowboys ride and stars sing, the exhibition center packed with agricultural displays, the arena, and the fairgrounds where the Ferris wheel spins over funnel-cake stands. Along the way you'll pass the Astrodome that once hosted the rodeo and learn how a modest 1930s fat-stock show grew into a Texas institution that hands out millions in scholarships. Come hungry, and if you visit during the show, budget extra time for parking.
