San Antonio didn't invent the lazy river, but the metro has assembled one of the largest concentrations of them anywhere in Texas — a string of slow-moving, inner-tube-friendly currents scattered across theme parks, resort water parks, and one legendary German water town forty minutes up the interstate. This is a tour for the completist: every notable lazy river the Alamo City area has to offer, from the beach-themed loop at a marine park to the black-bottom river shaded by live oaks at a Hill Country resort. None of these are free — every stop is either a ticketed park or a resort amenity — so budget your day, and your wristband, accordingly. Floating the whole metro means driving most of it first.
