This short walk covers two and a half centuries of downtown San Antonio's civic life: a Tejano statesman's home, the largest Mexican market north of the border, a public park built over the city's first cemetery, the labor organizer whose political education began right there, the seat of Spanish colonial government, and the cathedral that has anchored the city since 1731. It's a compact loop, but almost nothing in downtown San Antonio carries more layered history per block.
