History

Knight Cemetery is one of the adjoining Lufkin burial grounds that, together with the Glendale, Hillcrest, and IOOF (Odd Fellows) sections, form the large complex long known as the Lufkin City Cemeteries in Angelina County. Over the years these once-separate cemeteries grew together until only driveways divide them, and they share entrances off East Lufkin Avenue. The combined grounds hold burials reaching back to the late 19th century.
