History

West Camp Cemetery served the rural West Camp farming community in western Bailey County, well west of Muleshoe off U.S. Highway 70/84. Its burials date to the early twentieth century, with early graves such as those of Ida Butcher (1873-1935) and J. S. Butcher (1869-1951) marked by small handmade concrete stones. The cemetery's inscriptions were recorded and transcribed for the Bailey County cemetery survey.
