History

This is the old Bailey County Cemetery, Muleshoe's oldest public burial ground, founded in 1918. The deed for its original four acres was recorded in April 1919 for a purchase price of one dollar, though some headstones predate the founding. Additional land donated by the Wollard family expanded the grounds to their present twenty-six acres by 1939.
