History
Built in 1956 just outside the walls of Mission San Jose, this two-story frame, stone and concrete house was designed by Robert Harris in a Wrightian, Usonian-influenced style. It was the home of artist and conservationist Ethel Wilson Harris, who supervised WPA arts and crafts projects in San Antonio and created tile murals along the River Walk; the house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.
