History

The Burrus-Finch House at 405 North Waddill Street was home to J. Perry Burrus, a McKinney miller who became a co-owner of the local flour mill before selling the house in 1921 to Henry A. Finch and moving his operations to Dallas. Finch, who later served as mayor of McKinney and donated land for a city park, lived in the home, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places under the Historic Resources of McKinney.
